Ok so the above quote is not from this movie but, it suits it perfectly.
People generally categorise this movie as horror however, I tend to group it in the genre of thriller.
When I first saw this movie it scared the crap out of me. Mainly because there are only a few deaths on screen and my veryyoung and fertile imagination.
What do I think after rewinding and reviewing?
The movie has chops as a thriller but, now that I am not so young my imagination has given way to critical thought. It is a great movie stylistically however, the plot requires a suspension of your beliefs.
If you are a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tv show not the movie), Charmed, Supernatural and similar shows then you will have no trouble enjoying this movie.
For me the two stand out scenes are the revelation scene where John Hobbes (Denzel Washington) realises that all is not as it seems. In addition there is a fairly surreal chase scene that when I was younger scared the crap out of me.
OK. So this movie has nothing that blows up, it has a slower pace than normal however, it is well worth a watch.
Keep an eye out for: It's a two for one this time. Aida Turturro and James Gandolfini! They play detectives in this movie and also acted as brother and sister in a little show called The Sopranos.
My two favourite quotes came from Jonesy (John Goodman)

Yeah, me too. Somebody is playing with my dick and it ain't me.
andIf it wasn't for pizza and other fine Italian foods, there would be no happiness.
