Pump Up The Volume

OMG!!!
Ok when I first watched this movie it had the same impact that Karate Kid had on me...
After watching Karate Kid I went around doing that kick thing like most people, I sooooo wanted to be a Karate master....But I digress
I watched this movie and thought hey, I soooo want to be a pirate DJ.
After rewinding and reviewing?
I no longer want to be a pirate DJ (and isn't Hard Harry such a great name?) but, I still think this movie is top shit.
Where do I start?
The whole idea of exposing your thoughts to anyoneor no-one and the thought that it may instigate change. Isn't that what we all want? To make a difference no matter how small....ok even I am not stupid enough to not see the parallels between being a pirate DJ and a Blogger (I am now living my childhood fantasy...kinda)
This movie is a great social commentary for anyone who is or ever was a teenager. No adult listens, they all have a warped sense of what teenagers should be doing and there is no real connection between who you are and what the world perceives you to be.
I am not going to go into the plot, all I am going to say is it is a must watch. Oh and if you can check out the awesome soundtrack....Kids if you have never heard of Leonard Cohen or the Pixies please stop reading NOW and go and get this movie. The music is another character and is a third party to the hottest build up ofunfulfilled sexual tension.
Keep an eye out for: Seth Green! as Joey one of the many listeners of Hard Harry with the mullet to end all mullets.
My favourite quote of this movie was......
but now it is pushed into second place by....

I mean, if I knew any thing about love, I would be out there making it, instead of sitting in here talking to you guys
but now it is pushed into second place by....
Talk hard, I like that. It's like a dirty thought in a nice clean mind

The female lead was played by Samantha Mathis .
This was actually her first movie role and she later starred with Christian Slater again in Broken Arrow.
There were two other (young) females and their names were Lala Sloatman who hasn't really done much (one of her last roles was as "Hooker In Loft" in Pauly Shore is Dead)
And Cheryl Pollak who has been in a few T.VShows most notably Melrose Place.
