What?
When I first saw this movie many moons ago I thought that it was the funniest thing ever!
Especially when Richard Pryor put the ice-cream on Gene Wilders head.
After Rewinding and Reviewing?
Well it's still funny and the ice-cream scene is a kicker but, there is so much more to enjoy.
Where else would you get a literal demonstration of the blind leading the blind or a deaf man coming to the rescue with alarms blaring thinking he has been stealthy.
While many would say this is not Pryor/Wilders funniest teaming, because it was my first (and we always remember the first no matter how hard we try to forget) foray into the teaming I say it is my fave.
It is a showcase for both of their comedic talents especially when they are playing off each other. Two notable scenes are the car dump scene when Wally (Pryor) tests Daves (Wilder) hearing and the interrogation by the frustrated cop.
I could seriously list all my favourite scenes but, you would be better off watching the movie.
How can I explain how funny it is to see Richard Pryor getting hysterical over a 'revelation'of being black.
Keep an eye out for: Kevin Spacey! As the bad guy with a bad accent.
